About Intertakt
Intertakt is an interval timer for HIIT, Tabata and EMOM circuits, built around one constraint: mid-round, eyes and hands are busy, so the timing arrives as sound. A clear voice announces every interval and the halfway mark, countdown beeps call the approach, and both play over your own playlist — music, voice and beeps each with independent volume. The display is not part of the workout: once a session starts, the phone can stay in a pocket or a gym bag with the screen off and on Do Not Disturb, and the session keeps running through app switches and incoming calls — an interrupted round resumes from the exact second it stopped rather than starting over. Offline-first, no account needed. Best for home HIIT and gym rounds, EMOM blocks, and short movement breaks between desk sessions. Free tier: unlimited workouts. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — unlimited custom plans, history and JSON export. 0 ads · ∞ sessions · 0 accounts. Built with Flutter. Coming soon to Google Play; the waitlist and founding pricing are open at intertakt.com.
What Intertakt does
- Runs with the screen off
- Keeps the timer and its audio running with the phone locked or in a pocket, and a lock mode stops stray touches from pausing it.
- Voice and beep cues
- Counts you in and out of each interval, calls the halfway mark and the round, and plays countdown beeps in English, Russian or Spanish.
- Plays over your music
- Plays cues on top of Spotify or your own playlist with separate volumes for music, voice and beeps, and optional ducking.
- Resumes after calls
- Pauses on an incoming call or app switch and shows exactly where you stopped, with one button to resume.
- Custom and preset workouts
- Offers Tabata, HIIT and other presets, or lets you set each exercise's interval in whole seconds and save it by name.
- Offline with no account
- Stores everything on the device with no login, and Premium adds history and JSON export and import of routines.
Who it’s for
People doing HIIT, Tabata or EMOM workouts on Android who want to keep the phone face-down and listen to their own music. Skip it if you are on iOS, since it is not available there yet, or if you want a coached workout program instead of a timer.
What it costs
The timer is free with unlimited sessions and no ads, and the free tier keeps three saved plans. Premium is a one-time purchase on Google Play that removes the plan limit and adds history and file export. The site does not state the Premium price, and the founder mentions founding pricing for the waitlist.
