Methodology
The rules below describe both what visitors see and what the product enforces. If those diverge, that is a bug—not editorial discretion.
What List Maro is today
List Maro is an early-stage directory. Its catalog, independent voting audience, referral volume, and domain authority are still developing. A listing is a maintained discovery profile, not a promise of traffic, conversions, backlinks, or search performance.
Editorial review
Nothing publishes automatically. Approval requires a substantial description, verified features, pricing context, best-for guidance, one primary category, a written rationale for every category, and a recorded review date. Corrections are reviewed before changing public copy.
Categories
Every product has one primary category and no more than two secondary categories. Category rationales explain the buyer intent. A possible category remains a tag or facet until it has a distinct use case, a guide, and enough complete listings to support a useful hub.
Ranking readiness
A category receives numbered community rankings only after it has at least 5 published products, 5 independent eligible voters, and 10 eligible votes. Before that, it says “Ranking not established yet” and defaults to recently reviewed listings.
Vote eligibility
Owners, makers, employees, contractors, agencies, claimants, and accounts using the product company’s email domain cannot vote for that product. Duplicate votes are prevented. Known invalid historical votes are removed before totals are used publicly.
Sponsorship
Paid placements are separate inventory, visibly labelled Sponsored, and linked with rel="sponsored". Payment cannot buy approval, a verified badge, votes, editorial language, or a higher organic position. Sponsored impressions and clicks are reported separately from organic traffic.
Limitations and corrections
Product details can change between reviews. Review dates show when we last checked a profile. Visitors and companies can suggest corrections from any listing page; an editor verifies the evidence before updating the profile.
