About tta1
tta1 is a text-to-speech web app that lets you listen to any article, in your language. Paste a link to an article, newsletter or X (Twitter) thread, paste text, or upload a PDF, Word document or screenshots, and tta1 reads it aloud in a natural AI voice. It runs in any modern browser, with no app to install.
Clean reading, not clutter: when tta1 fetches a web page it keeps only the article body. Menus, ads, cookie banners, sidebars and comments are left out. For X, it reads a single post, the author's whole thread around it, or a long-form X Article, while skipping replies from other people. PDFs up to 20 MB are cleaned up too: page numbers, running headers and footers are dropped, hyphenated words are rejoined, and scanned PDFs are transcribed. You can also upload Word (.docx), text and Markdown files, or up to 20 screenshots and photos that are read in the order you choose.
Translation is built in. tta1 detects the source language automatically and can translate the content into any of 25 output languages before reading it, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic. Pick from 30 natural voices, each with a preview.
The player starts in about five seconds even for long reads, supports speeds from 0.5x to 2.5x without changing pitch, offers skip back and forward, lock-screen controls, and resumes where you left off. Past readings are saved in your library for free replays.
tta1 is freemium: free to try with 1,000 words a month, with Plus and Pro plans adding uploads and MP3 downloads. It is great for commuters, students, professionals, language learners and anyone who would rather listen than read.
